Sohag University Council approves awarding the university’s appreciation, encouragement and excellence awards to 13 of its employees in the field of scientific research and quality assurance.
The Sohag University Council, headed by Dr. Mostafa Abdel-Khalek, President of the University, agreed in its session No. (187) for the month of November to award 13 of the winners from the university’s employees the university’s awards in the field of scientific research, which include the appreciation award, the excellence award, and the encouragement award, in addition to the university award for the best Master’s and Ph.D. thesis, Best Applied Research Award, Distinguished Management Award in Quality Assurance Practices, Distinguished Student and Employee Award.
Dr. Mostafa Abdel-Khalek said that granting these awards came out of the university’s keenness to appreciate the outstanding performance through competition between the university’s employees, units, academic departments and colleges, with the aim of continuing innovation and development in the fields of scientific research and quality practices at the university.
Dr. Hassan Al-Numani, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explained that these awards were subject to precise criteria in evaluating the candidates in the light of transparent, announced and approved rules, as the University Council agreed to award the University Appreciation Prize in Basic Sciences to Dr. The university award for scientific excellence in the field of basic sciences by Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, professor at the Faculty of Science, the university award for scientific excellence in the field of medical sciences by Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Ahmed Al-Sayed, professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the university award for scientific excellence in the field of applied sciences by Dr. Mahmoud Salem Ahmed, full-time professor at the Faculty of Technology and Education .
As for the university’s encouragement awards, it has been approved to grant the university’s encouragement award in the field of medical sciences to DrIt was also approved to award the university award for the best master’s thesis in the field of basic sciences to Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Aleem, a professor at the Faculty of Science on behalf of the student Tariq Al-Dabaa Nasr Al-Din, and the university award for the best doctoral thesis in the field of basic sciences to Dr. Laila Hamdan, professor of the Faculty of Science on the student Azza Ahmed. Dr. Omar Al-Hadi, Executive Director of the Project Management Unit, added that the door for submissions for the award was opened last February, as it targeted members of the teaching and supporting staff, as well as members of the administrative structure, and college students.
